Published in 1885, this novel features Allan Quatermain, Haggard's popular two-fisted hero from other novels like King Solomon's Mines. Against the background of a warlike Caucasian tribe hidden away in darkest Africa, Quatermain mourns the loss of his son and experiences a most harrowing and fantastical adventure.
